I was born to a drug addict, con man inmate, and an alcoholic, pill popping mother. My father left me and my sisters right after I learned to walk. And that was the beginning of my traumatic upbringing. My mother brought men in and out of my life growing up until she finally married and abusive military man named Dean, who became my stepfather he beat me, choked me, belittled, and degraded me my entire life it seemed as though his main goal was to be emasculate and humiliate me, and for a young boy that was extremely damaging to my psychological development, I remember him choking me at one point until I urinated on myself and then he made me sleep in my soiled underwear all night. Remember a time where he removed all of the furniture out of my room and made me sit in my room, staring out the window for all three months of the summer. I always remember having murderous fantasies about him about being able to kill him. I used to run away to escape the abuse and I called child protective services many times to no avail. I threatened my stepfather with a knife, and he started to sleep with a baseball bat under his bed. At which point he called the police on me and charge me with an undisciplined child act charge. So the judge sent me away to a wilderness camp for troubled youth, to which I felt abandoned once again at 12 years old I wasn’t able to see my mother for a year and I had to sleep in the woods. I responded by along with some other kids setting fire to the camp and, stealing medication’s that other trouble use were prescribed and running away and meeting up with girls from the girls camp on the other side of the forest and this caused the state to have to shut the program down and bring all of the kids back to their homes I was in and out of juvenile detention centers, and I was institutionalized several times for suicidal ideation at one point I was living alone in my truck doing odd jobs to survive and I got together with a bunch of other troubled teens and we would go and steal cough syrup from the drugstore to can cut what is called triple C and at that point all of us just had a reckless death wish and we hope to overdose and die. One night we were all together and what might sound like a bad trip to some, I had a supernatural intervention because Christ I firmly believe you can use anything to speak to us. I felt this extremely intense needed to find this Bible that one of the camp counselors had given me named John, I freaked out and screamed for one of my friends to go grab the Bible that we needed to read it and when he came back, all of the words in the Bible were upside down and we couldn’t read it and so he passed it to the next kid and the words were upside down for him as well, and then he passed it to me and I couldn’t read it, and the words were upside down. Finally, we passed it to an autistic kid named Derek , who was Illiterate and he read it perfectly and fluently, and it was a story in the Bible about the Jews, wandering in the desert. I remember feeling this immense pull, that I needed to repent of my sins and feeling this deep anguish inside, recognizing all of my sin and all of the bad things I have done that on the cross all of my sins and all of the world sins that put Jesus on the cross and I was moved to tears and deep, broken repentance granted I was not a believer at this time so this came out of nowhere, but I did remember that as a child Christian music when it would come on this little stereo that I had I would listen to it and cry out to God if there was a God when I was young because I felt like an orphan and nobody cared, and the pain was suffocating. I feel like it was that moment that Jesus answered my call. I then ran to my mother‘s home, tearful and broken about the experience I just had and I screamed you don’t understand we killed Jesus we put Jesus on the cross and my mom calling me crazy and trying to humiliate me and calling me a loser and telling me I needed to take a shower and she wouldn’t listen to me so crushed my knees and the warm water pour down my face. I looked up and saw a vision of Jesus on the cross blood pouring from his body, and that was the point where the water droplets turn to his blood, and I was being washed in his blood purified and undeserving And after that moment, everything gloat for a short period of time, everything glowed, I went to church the next day and the pulpit, the pastor, the congregation, the pews everything glowed. After that experience, I was on fire for the Lord something unexplainable happened to me on the inside, but at a certain point, the Lords heavy presence left me and I was left to face the world without the supernatural occurring regularly, but I do believe he touched me in that moment personally to get my attention, the little orphan boy who had nobody who cared for him. I don’t believe anybody is too far gone for the Lord to restore him and renew him and give him a new life.
